The goals of the Society of Behavioral Medicine's (SBM) Education and Training (E&T) Council include identifying and promoting existing education and training programs, and promoting the development of new interdisciplinary education and training efforts in behavioral medicine. To these ends, the E&T Council coordinates a number of activities for the SBM including: (a) development of the web-based Directory of Training Opportunities in behavioral medicine; (b) coordination of the Expert Consultation Service; (c) selection of the Outstanding Dissertation Award; (d) oversight of Continuing Education Credits; (e) development of a repository of behavioral medicine syllabi and other training materials; (f) provision of curricular recommendations to SBM members; (g) development of programming for the Annual Meeting related to education and training.
