The Mind & Heart Lab directed by Dr. Elena Salmoirago-Blotcher, MD, PhD is looking for a post-doctoral scholar with interests in heart failure (HF) self-care, and/or cognitive impairment in patients with HF, and/or mindfulness interventions in cardiovascular disease. The position (40 hours/week for 3 years with the option of extending to 4 years) is funded by an R01 grant. The Candidate will analyze heart rate variability and cognitive data and will take a leading role on manuscripts focusing on the link between mindfulness training, vagal control, and cognitive function. Other tasks include assisting with Progress Reports and grant submissions, and literature reviews. Mentoring and protected time for K-award or other grant writing offered. Post-doctoral or similar academic appointment available.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE: PhD in Psychology, Clinical Epidemiology, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years’ experience in cardiovascular behavioral medicine. Experience with data analysis a plus (e.g., STATA; SPSS; or SAS)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: The candidate will train undergraduate and graduate students at the lab.
