Honors, Awards, and Inclusions:

Belinda Borrelli, PhD, FSBM, was appointed as chair of the Data Safety and Monitoring Board of National Institute of Aging (NIA) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Borrelli, was also appointed in early January by the Health and Human Services Secretary to serve a three-year term on the National Advisory Dental and Craniofacial Research Council (NADCR).

Jennifer Mandelbaum, PhD, MPH, was appointed to the editorial board of Health Promotion Practice.

K. "Vish" Viswanath, PhD, served as Chair of the Consensus Study Committee for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM)’s new report “Understanding and Addressing Misinformation About Science”, which was published in December 2024. Articles on Dr. Viswanath’s role in the report were published by NASEM, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and the Lee Kum Sheung Center for Health and Happiness.

Gautham Sudhakar was awarded with the Gerry and Bob Virgil Ethic of Service Award. The Gerry and Bob Virgil Ethic of Service Award is an annual award recognizing a select group of WashU community members who exemplify a character of service and engagement with the St. Louis region.
