Wow! Look into this issue, and you will see some of the activities your colleagues are involved in. This is a very dynamic organization. First, Dr. Sherry Pagoto, as SBM president, describes plans by the SBM Board of Directors to complete a feasibility study of SBM offering micro-credentialing in behavioral medicine strategies. This will not only put us at the forefront of promoting quality delivery of our science, but potentially will add to the society’s financial health. Another article worth reading is that submitted by the Sleep SIG, telling us that perhaps not only with sleep hygiene but other behavioral medicine techniques as well, success is often determined by our ability to tailor the intervention to the patient’s specific situation. Overall, this issue of Outlook highlights the diverse ways our members are making an impact an d “Leading the Narrative” , whether it be in academia or industry, policy advocacy, or dissemination of our work through clinical service delivery. We want you to get involved and not be a bystander – write an article for Outlook, volunteer to be on a council for something you care about, and these efforts are a great way to network and promote your own career success! Enjoy!
