Honors, Awards, and Inclusions:

Allyson Hughes, PhD, presented at the CDC's Division of Diabetes Translation on World Diabetes Day (November 14th) on the topic of "Keep Mental Health Top of Mind: Enhancing Emotional Wellness for People With Diabetes".

Andrew P. McLeod, PhD, received a K99/R00 award from NCI looking at the intersection of diet, cognition, and the gut microbiome in breast cancer patients and will be mentored by past SBM President Dr. Marian Fitzgibbon.

Angela Fidler Pfammatter, PhD, FSBM, FAHA, was named Fellow of the American Heart Association in recognition of her significant professional and scientific contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine.

Catherine L. Davis, PhD, FSBM and Kate Lorig, DrPH, published a letter to the editor of JAMA in response to an biased editorial suggesting that in the age of new obesity drugs, "the utility of lower-intensity, lifestyle-based interventions could be questioned".

Catherine L. Davis, PhD, FSBM, was in the top 100 most-cited authors for last month in Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, according to ResearchGate.

Jacquelyn J. Benson, PhD, of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis received the honor of being named a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) at the 2024 GSA annual conference in Seattle, Washington.

Jasjit S. Ahluwalia, MD, MPH, MS, has joined the Council of Tobacco Treatment Training Programs (CTTTP) as a member of the Board of Directors.

Jennifer Mandelbaum, PhD, MPH, is a 2025-2026 Future Caucus Innovation Fellow. Dr. Mandelbaum will be joining the Prenatal-to-Three cohort alongside a bipartisan group of young lawmakers, focused on developing future-oriented policies and solutions.

Larissa Myaskovsky, PhD, was awarded the Senior Investigator Award, and presented AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting. Dr. Myaskovsky also obtained Fellow status in both the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI), and American Psychological Association.

Linda E. Carlson, PhD, FSBM and Julia Rowland, PhD, FSBM, was recognized by the European Society of Integrative Medicine with the Excellence in Integrative Medicine Research Award 2024 for the publication entitled “integrative oncology care of symptoms of anxiety and depression in adults with cancer:  Society for Integrative Oncology-American Society of Clinical Oncology guideline”.

Mathias Lalika, MD, MPH, was honored with a "Best of Specialty Conferences" recognition by the American Heart Association for his abstract, "A Culturally Tailored mHealth Lifestyle Intervention Improves Diet and Physical Activity Self-Regulation Among African-Americans." Dr. Lalika initially presented at AHA EPI Lifestyle and was invited to re-present at the AHA Scientific Sessions in Chicago this November.
